Project / Construction Manager

Position Description:

  • Manages and coordinates all components of the pre-construction, bid and award, construction, and close-out phase of all assigned projects.
  • Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer, as necessary.
  • Coordinates with all pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction for compliance purposes
  • Manages the project budget and schedule to meet the Client’s expectations.
  • Review and negotiate change order proposals to achieve a fair and reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions
  • Reviews and addresses all schedule impacts according to project specifications.
  • Oversees daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules and submittals, and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries.
  • Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements and coordinates delivery of related tools, materials, fixtures, furniture and equipment
  • Perform inspections to ensure workmanship adheres to project specifications and construction schedules.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15 years of full-time experience in Construction or a combination of Project and Construction Management of Commercial or Public/Educational Facility Construction with 3-5 years of full responsibility managing projects with construction values between $10M – $20M.
  • Design Build Experience
  • Experience with LEED, BIM, and DSA construction/design processes
  • Diploma from a recognized college/university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management OR a valid Certified Construction Manager(CCM) credential OR a Bachelor’s Degree and the ability to earn a CCM within 1 year of employment
  • An active Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • An active CCM Credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
  •  OSHA 30 Certificate
