Position Description:

• Produce preliminary and final detailed cost estimates for assigned projects for Project/Construction Manager use to establish negotiating position.
• Prepare change order estimates for Management use to establish negotiating position.
• Provide support in price negotiations and prepare claim analyses.
• Prepare estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches.
• Review contractor’s claims and proposals for merit.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8-15 years of full-time professional experience in construction cost estimating for facilities or school building construction projects
• Diploma from a recognized college/university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
• Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
• Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of those scopes of work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
