Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD)
The Los Angeles Community College District is the largest community college district in the United States and is one of the largest in the world. LACCD’s Building Program, which began in 2001 and is funded through more than $14.9 billion in voter-approved bonds, including Measure LA in 2022, seeks to modernize and renovate the nine colleges of the District. The types of projects include new and renovated academic buildings and laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, arts complexes, administrative buildings, child development centers, parking structures, central energy plants and renewable energy projects.
Even before the formal formation of The Greenridge Group, Inc., the founding members both served in prominent positions within LACCD. Mr. David Tsao in fact served as the Interim and Campus Project Director from 2003 – 2006, Mr. Tim Oliver served as Vice President of Administrative Services at Pierce College from 1999 – 2006, and several of our current employees like Mr. Ed Cadena served as the Deputy Campus Project Director from 2009 – 2011 then as the Campus Project Director from 2011 – 2019, and both Mr. Doug Cottone and Mr. Mario Ceron continue to serve on LACCD’s Bond Program both with long-standing tenures of 12 and 15 years respectively. And finally, our current Managing Principal Mr. Sam Yu has had a long-standing relationship with LACCD and other K-12 and higher education institutions for more than 25 years and in fact served as Principal-in-Charge representing his last three employers for LACCD.
Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)
LAUSD’s $25+ billon bond program seeks to build new schools to reduce overcrowding and modernize existing campuses throughout the District. The District is comprised of 1000+ individual school sites which includes K-12, early education centers, adult schools, and occupational skill centers across the entire county of Los Angeles. The primary goal of the bond program has been to reduce overcrowding by providing students with the opportunity to attend a neighborhood school operating on a traditional, two-semester calendar.
To date, more than 600 new construction projects providing more than 170,000 new seats have been delivered. More than 19,600 school modernization projects have completed construction to provide upgraded facilities which help improve the learning environment for students. Solar panels on rooftops and parking shade structures throughout the District are anticipated to generate approximately 21.4 megawatts of solar energy. School network infrastructure upgrades at all the District’s K-12 school sites are nearly completed. Over 575 Board approved projects valued at $4.0 billion are in the reconstruction phase and another 300+ projects valued at $475 million are under construction.
Greenridge is currently providing program and project level support services for LAUSD and is proud of our long-standing relationship with this client. Our assigned staff to the program consists of Sr. Project Managers, Owner Authorized Representative Levels 1 & 2, Constructability Review Lead, and other project / program level controls support positions.
Los Angeles World Airport – Delta T2/T3 Redevelopment (LAWA)
Delta Air Lines has grown from 70 daily departures from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to more than 175. The $2.2 billion LAX Terminal Relocation project supports Los Angeles World Airport’s (LAWA) broader vision of a Gold Standard Airport by improving efficiency for customers and airlines, enhancing the passenger experience, providing a convenient connection to planned landside access modernizations, and upgrading LAX before the city’s bid for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Greenridge as a subconsultant to the joint venture between STV / Satterfield & Pontikes helped provide programming, program management, critical path management, and construction management services for the relocation of Delta Air Lines from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3; modernization and upgrades; and connection to the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
